Twin Cities Opera Guild has supported the Fargo Moorhead Young Artists with grants for music education for children for nine years, beginning in 2013. The four singers in the program, chosen from auditions in New York, are brought to Fargo from February through April, singing in their spring production and touring the area with programs for school children. Beginning in 2016, TCOG also sponsored these talented artists for a two-week program in the Twin Cities area, presenting them to local students.

Although the Covid-19 pandemic forced a cancellation of the 2021 Twin Cities Metro tour, the Fargo Moorhead Opera was able to continue their local program using a video presentation distributed to the schools. The video presents the four artists in a story with an original plot and arias taken from Don Giovanni, Barber of Seville, La Traviata, Magic Flute, Abduction from the Seraglio, Romeo and Juliet and a Cole Porter song at the happy ending of the story. Different versions were prepared for elementary school, middle school and high school students, allowing students to see the performance virtually. This spring, while in-person programs were not possible, Twin Cities Opera Guild made these videos available to schools in our metropolitan area, and we are pleased to be able to offer the high school version to friends of Twin Cities Opera Guild.
